Digital Media Specialist

Avista Video Histories

May 2003 - February 2004

My job at Avista involved shooting digital video (both in the studio and on client sites), digital video editing, lighting, audio engineering, script writing and editing, graphic design for video and print, DVD authoring, and media duplication. Typical projects involved family video histories, advertising of rental properties, Human Resources and Training videos, weddings and bar mitzvahs, and educational material for the Albuquerque Public School system. One of the most rewarding projects was a promotional piece for the New Mexico Jazz Workshop. I wrote the script, lit and shot about 50% of the footage, created graphics and titles, mixed the audio, and authored the DVD. I won a Telly award for the piece!

Lead Graphic Artist and Web Designer

March 1999 - December 2001

I handled a majority of the advertising media, including the design of the company's logos, web sites, business cards, trade show booths, TV commercial, billboard, and a brochure. I also created over 100 websites for attorneys from around the country in various areas of expertise. My bosses were very nice people to work for. I started when the company was very young and I helped it grow into a much larger business. I had a lot of influence over the print media in the company and designed the logos and websites for the company's two flagship sites: Attorney Locate and AllLaw. We had a relationship with the now-defunct New Mexico Slam basketball team. I designed a few sites for them, the first of which was a really cool, fun, animated Flash site.

Head Rogue

Rogue Factor

January 1998 - July 2007

I'm a creative designer and artist. Typical projects include logo design, web design, and print materials (business cards, letterhead, flyers, brochures, etc.). These are often combined into identity packages for new companies and organizations. I work with clients from the conception of their logo all the way through to getting their web site online. I currently have creative partnerships with Digital Design Dimensions, Systems Management, Inc., and NewLife Network.

Graphic Artist and Animator

GE Power Systems University

January 1998 - September 1998

My primary responsibilities included creating 2D and 3D animations for cd-rom based courseware that supported GE Power Systems. I also designed graphics for the company website, trade show booth, promotional cd-rom and other marketing materials. I worked mostly in Photoshop, Autodesk Animator, 3D Studio MAX, and Premiere.

Graphic Artist and Multimedia Developer

L&P Media

January 1997 - December 1997

I was never bored there. I made multi-language product info CD-ROMs, touch screen kiosk interfaces and content, corporate presentation graphics, company logos, animations for commercials, and lots more. Our clients included TransWorld Entertainment, Interface Inc., Protective Life Insurance, Osram Sylvania, and IEEE. We spent nearly 2 weeks in Maui doing a gig for Interface. Not only was Maui astonishingly gorgeous, I got to be around people like Clint Eastwood, Bruce Willis, Demi Moore, John Denver, Kenny Loggins, Paul Hawken, and Terry Waite. I created presentation graphics and maintained all the computer kiosks for the meeting.

Graphic Artist (Contracted)

June 1996 - December 1996

The main project I worked on was an educational CD-ROM for the New Mexico Dept. of Tourism on the history of the Camino Real. I got to do a lot of work in Photoshop, Director and QuickTime VR.

Lead 3D Animator and Digital Video Specialist

High Ground Digital

April 1995 - May 1996

I was responsible for all 3D animation and digital video editing. Typical projects included corporate identity cd-roms, animated logos, sales aid presentations, touch-screen kiosks and architectural walk-throughs. I also helped to develop the company's web page. For whatever reason, they let me create a completely 3D animated short film which supposedly demonstrated their 3D modeling expertise to clients. I modeled everything, did the voices and sound effects, and edited the whole thing together. I also made an animated commercial for a fictional comic book store. Another great project was creating an architectural walk-thru of a hotel. I used blueprints, material swatches and photographs to recreate the main lobby and bedroom that could be explored via QuickTime VR.
