Solar Consulting

Abellon Clean Energy Ltd.

May 2011 - August 2011

With Solyndra interested in stepping into India's urban and rural solar market, I surveyed 40 rooftop sites in Gujarat to determine solar installation potential. 8 promising sites, including Louis Kahn's Indian Institute of Management, were selected to proceed with solar installations in the immediate future.

Urban Design

M/S. Prabhakar B. Bhagwat

May 2011 - August 2011

I self-initiated a development study by following 3 cows in progressive regions (rural, old city, urbanized city) for 16 field hours total and measured 6 parameters affecting cow behaviors. Data and observations were synthesized through 9 hand-illustrated infographic maps. +Awards & Honors: Published in India-wide journal Landscape Environment Advancement Foundation | Highest commented and featured inspiration on OpenIDEO of 894 submissions addressing challenge "Restoring Vibrancy in Cities Facing Economic Decline" I conducted ethnographic studies comparing notions of happiness amongst people of different income states and socioeconomic status by interviewing 30 locals in selected regions of development. I abstracted my findings by illustrating a "Happiness Map". +Awards & Honors: The InFORMal Design Competition (ongoing)-1 of selected 2 finalists in the Bay Area

Cisco Systems

January 2011 - May 2011

In part of Cisco's vision to strengthen its "Human Network," I produced 10 case studies to identify opportunities to direct product innovation for pervasive video in the market, and analyzed Cisco’s capital and operational expenditures against forecasted profitability on these possibilities.

Nuon Inc

May 2010 - September 2010

I conceptualized the interior design of solar car Monarch via AutoCAD and SolidWorks against engineering restraints toward a human-centered design; patent pending. I also designed interfaces for solar products with high solar efficiency (30%) to be tailored for middle-income consumers. 25 units have already been pre-ordered by King Abdulaziz University in Saudi Arabia

Engineering Intern

Arizona State University Biodesign Institute

June 2006 - September 2009

I researched algal-based Biodiesel for commercial uses in a 3-year project funded by British Petroleum called Tubes in the Desert. In terms of laboratory work, I conducted 3 experiments manipulating 5 growth conditions to maximize lipid yields in fresh water cyanobacteria. On an engineering level, I designed a bench-top lipid extraction system valued at $15,000 which was transformed into a 100 square foot roof-top scale prototype. I also have experience designing Microfluidic Cassettes to detect cells linked to cancer and inflammatory diseases using AutoCAD and Laser Fabrication. +Awards & Honors: 1st Place-Intel Arizona State Science and Engineering Fair: Energy and Transportation, 2nd Place-Intel AZSEF: Materials & Bioengineering, RICOH Sustainable Energy Award, featured spokesperson in firm outreach video
