New York businessman Eric Fornell is currently vice chairman of investment banking and capital markets at Wells Fargo Securities in New York City. His responsibilities include working closely with clients in the energy and utility industries to provide financial and strategic advice. After joining the company in 2012, Eric Fornell led Wells Fargo’s expansion into Canada and supervised team recruitment in Toronto and Calgary. Before his time with Wells Fargo, Mr. Fornell served for many years as managing director and global head of natural resources at J.P. Morgan Securities. He led investment banking initiatives with power and utility companies and worked with two environmental groups to negotiate the Carbon Principles, a set of guidelines regarding financing of new power plants that burn coal. Previously, Mr. Fornell held the position of managing director at Goldman Sachs & Co. after a long-standing position as vice president of American Natural Resources in Detroit, Michigan. Eric Fornell graduated summa cum laude from Amherst College in Amherst, Massachusetts, with a bachelor of arts in economics and English. After graduating, he studied abroad as a Rhodes Scholar at Oxford University.
