Communication Research

Hi there, My name is Gijs Hugo Frederik Molsbergen and I am a 25 year old student at the Fontys Hogeschool. Here, I am preparing to become a professional communications adviser by 2012. Besides that I am a self employed "professional". My small business helps people since 2009 to understand how new media and internet-tools work and how these can be used or implemented by themselves. I've got an unbelievable drive and I've heard my enthusiasm can be very contagious. I like travelling and the odds are, I'll be working abroad within two years. Can you help me find an interesting place to work and develop my skills? Let's get into touch, share knowledge and be communicative! Cheers, Gijs Molsbergen PS. Feel free to correct me when I've misspelled words or made grammatical mistakes.

Servicecentrum Drechtsteden (SCD) , Dordrecht

August 2010 - April 2011

During my internship at this governmental service-center, I had to research how the municipality of Dordrecht could position itself, using Water as a main theme. I also served as a communication adviser for several other subjects, such as the design for a Business Platform and the integration of social media as a internal communication tool and more. I had to put 'social media' on the map, so to say. During my internship a large fire broke out at a company named Chemie Pack, in the municipality of Moerdijk, which is very close to Dordrecht. The smoke blew over many cities and this was reason to form a crisis center. The crisis center asked me to act as a (online) mediawatcher, to provide information about what was being written and said on on- and offline media sources such as Twitter, forums and newssites. This internship was graded with an A

At PHENC I had to answer calls for people who had questions about their pension funds. It was a complete difference compared to the call center work I did two years earlier, because I got some intensive trainings on 'how the pension funds worked' at PHENC. A great place to work thanks to the friendly colleagues.

Theaters Tilburg

January 2008 - May 2009

I've been a host in this Theatre. It was a great experience, although it was hard to combine the long hours of working there and making sure I'd get to my study. I welcomed the guests and the artists their. I've always made music and I loved to go to plays and concerts. So it was really nice I could work their for one season.

Agent/Customer service

September 2005 - February 2007

I had to make calls with people who live inside The Netherlands, to offer them internet and other telecom services. I also helped customers who had trouble using their internet, telephone or while installing their products. It was a fun job and it actually helped me to develop my communicative skills quiet well. Of course, many people were irritated when you called them during dinnertime. But at such moments you learn to be polite throughout the phone and sometimes even make a deal by being so.
