A writing and editing professional with 14 years of experience in the industry, Nancy Staab recently joined the staff of 435 Magazine as executive editor. Her responsibilities include overseeing the editorial and art direction of the monthly publication, which covers the Greater Kansas City metropolitan area. Additionally, Nancy Staab writes special-interest features ranging in topic from art and culture to personality profiles. She also manages photo shoots for 435 and directs the magazine’s fashion pieces. Prior to her work at 435, Ms. Staab served as a senior editor with Southern Accents magazine. She also worked as deputy editor of the Houston and Dallas editions of PaperCity magazine and as editor-in-chief of the Atlanta edition of PaperCity magazine. Nancy Staab completed a bachelor’s degree in English literature at Dartmouth College, and she wrote her undergraduate thesis on the relation of John Keats’ poetry and the visual arts. Furthering her education, she attended the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, from which she received a PhD in English literature. In her interdisciplinary dissertation, Ms. Staab researched the prose of Sir Thomas Browne in connection with the culture of collecting in the Renaissance period.
