About

Working with social media means I'm constantly learning and evolving. Nothing stands still for too long in the world of social media... and neither do I. I write, strategize, tweet and blog with a particular passion and uniqueness. Formally trained as a writer and content creator, I've also learned about the business of social media during my time working with both B2C and B2B clients. Specifically, I've worked extensively with the social media monitoring tool Radian6 to track mentions and develop monthly reports for an insurance client. I'm also familiar with using Google Analytics to gather metrics relating to blogs and websites. Additionally, I've participated in the development of social media engagement decision maps, social media engagement playbooks, protocol for contacting various stakeholders for situations that require unique engagement and an extensive social media strategy guidebook. This strategy guidebook includes information about research, tactical recommendations for individual platforms, a timeline for development, metrics to measure the success of each tactical recommendation, an overview of the deliverables and information regarding goals, return on objectives and return on investment.

This particular opportunity gave me the freedom to enhance my skills and the power to control projects in a way that others early on in their careers are not able to do. For example, I was given the responsibility to create a national design competition from scratch. This included developing the competition and promotional campaign plan, writing all the content for the website and all supplemental pieces (e-mails to sponsors, e-newsletter, print materials, and more), overseeing the design of the website, and ensuring that everything was completed in a timely manner.
