Experience

freelance Web producer

Showtime Networks

March 2010 - October 2011

Showtime engaged me to spearhead its relaunch of The Smithsonian Channel’s Web site and help them transition to a dynamic publishing environment. As the lead developer, I was responsible for the frontend coding and UX design. Interactive elements were developed in jQuery and are optimized for viewing on the iPad. I also handled the integration of video content from Brightcove and performed an SEO overhaul with custom page tracking via Omniture and Google Analytics. (http://bit.ly/agxw90)

multimedia producer

The New York Times

April 2008 - December 2009

As a multimedia producer for The New York Times News Service/Syndicate, I worked closely with both editorial and sales teams to develop online products from in-house content as well as material culled from the Syndicate’s partner publications for international distribution.

news producer

America Online

September 2007 - April 2008

AOL has been a leader in online publishing for more than 15 years and remains the fourth largest news Web site in the U.S. As an online news producer, I was responsible for managing the daily production of stories, videos and multimedia elements that appeared on the front pages of aol.com, the AOL client’s “Welcome Screen” and the Web 2.0 news site at news.aol.com. I helped maintain day-to-day editorial operations during the company’s restructuring efforts in 2007. During my tenure, I helped increase the news vertical’s monthly page views from 600 to 800 million.

Web news producer/editor

Fox News Channel

June 2004 - September 2007

As the Web presence of the top-rated cable news network, FOXNews.com provides up-to-the-minute coverage throughout the 24-hour news cycle and serves as an online hub to expand the network’s core brand through viewer engagement. I managed the production of the front page of FOXNews.com during the late shift, wrote breaking stories and original features, edited wire and in-house copy for accuracy, tone and style as well as produced videos, photos and graphics to complement headline news.
