Health Coach Working with Veterans
Tim Penix is a U.S. Army veteran who serves as health coach with the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs (VHA) in Sepulveda, California. Part of a primary care team, he assists patients with chronic conditions in setting out health goals and working to improve those areas identified. Tim Penix works with patients who have a wide range of conditions, including tobacco dependency, diabetes, high blood pressure, and weight issues. Since becoming a health coach, he has undertaken training in diverse aspects of integrative medicine. He takes pride in enabling veterans to achieve healthy changes in their lifestyles. Mr. Penix served in the U.S. Army and U.S. Marines for a total of 23 years and held responsibilities as staff officer and commander in overseas campaigns. His assignments included medical service, operations, and military intelligence. Outside of his VHA responsibilities, Mr. Penix focuses his time on officiating high school and youth lacrosse, where he strives to provide players with a firm understanding of the importance of sportsmanship. Tim Penix also mentors new lacrosse officials and helps them grow into their careers.
